Revitalizing the Space
Renovation Highlights | October 2024 – January 2025
Since October 2024, the renovation of Francis Apollo Apartments has been in full swing. The first phase focused on a major demolition, removing nearly 15 tons of materials, including two chimneys to create more kitchen space. The photos below showcase the progress made so far, highlighting the work that has already been completed.
Looking ahead to 2025, the renovation will include restoring the building’s original hardwood flooring, upgrading HVAC systems, enhancing plumbing, completing major electrical work, and adding state-of-the-art appliances. Landscaping, cement work, and security improvements are also part of the plan, along with much more.
Hardwood Floors to Be Refinished

Bathroom demolition

Kitchen demolition
As part of the kitchen demolition, we decided to remove two chimneys to create additional space. It was a significant effort, but we’re hopeful that future tenants will appreciate the added room!

Chimney removal
We removed more than 10 tons of bricks! We extend a huge thanks to Trash Box Disposal and the City of Beloit’s dumpster rental service.

Optimized Space: Larger Bathrooms and Standard Closets
The original closets were unusually long, so we adjusted them to a standard depth. This change allowed us to expand the bathrooms, creating a more spacious and functional layout.

Reframing Kitchens to Maximize Space
In addition to removing the chimneys, we carefully identified areas of "dead space" within the kitchen that were not serving any functional purpose. By reframing these underutilized sections, we’ve transformed the layout to create a more open and expansive kitchen, maximizing both usability and design potential.

Repairing the Soffits: Enhancing Structure and Aesthetics
In addition to renovating the interior, we are equally focused on enhancing the exterior to ensure the entire property is beautiful and well-maintained. As part of this process, we’ve been repairing the soffits and sealing up the building, ensuring both structural integrity and an appealing curbside appearance.
